Gusto Bread is an organic panadería in Long Beach, California specializing in bread and pan dulce made only with masa madre sourdough while constantly striving to foster relationships and community to celebrate diversity and culture. Their delicious menu consistently makes headlines including being part of the22 Best Bakeries Across the U.S. on The New York Times as well as the 8 bakeries with globally inspired croissants on The Los Angeles Times.

I had the honor of filming an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into their magical bakery making process starting at 4AM until 8AM when doors open.

For their new merchandise, I reached into our rich cultural ancestry to depict ancient Mesoamerican figures enjoying their famed bread for a new shirt, stickers and menu. I sketched out various ideas until landing on these fun designs, closely collaborating with owners Ana and Arturo on what represented the bakery best.
