Two male adventurers make a getaway to the jungles near Belize's largest freshwater lagoon in Lamanai, a monumental metropolis of the distant past. Crafted by the great Maya civilization who once thrived here, this architectural palace gets its name from the Yucatec Mayan "Lama'an'ain" meaning ๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ, a significant symbol representing the back of a large reptileโ€™s back as the land. Occupied as late as the 17th century, a Maya revolt drove the Spanish out after they established two Roman Catholic churches here.
