Artist Talk Series ― A Conversation with Polaris Castillo

Libélula Books & Co. is a queer and BIPOC owned book shop in Kumeyaay land San Diego, CA. They invited me to give an intimate talk about art, love, allyship and celebrating our contemporary indigenous presence.

It was an honor for me to share my work, philosophies and goals as an artist with such an endearing community. We opened the room for questions from the wonderfully packed house who squeezed in on cozy sofas and floors to discuss a sensitive subject matter with a lighthearted approach. I passed around my sketchbook for folks to peruse while we engaged in close range conversation. This was one of my favorite experiences I’ve ever had as an artist.
